Mr. Tincher is Executive Vice President - Development & Geology and a Partner in Nickel Road Operating LLC. He brings 18 years of geological experience in the oil and gas industry, with exploration and early development experience in several plays, including the Piceance Basin, DJ Basin, Big Horn Basin, Uinta Basin, Powder River Basin, Deep Bossier, Marcellus, and Columbia River sub-basalt plays. Prior to joining Nickel Road Operating LLC, he was Development Manager and Exploration Manager for Ursa Operating Company from 2013 to 2017. Prior to Ursa Operating Company, Mr. Tincher was an Exploration Geologist for Newfield Exploration Company from 2012 to 2013. Mr. Tincher began his career in 2005 as a Geologist at Encana Oil & Gas USA, where he was an integral part of the New Ventures Team working on the discovery/early development of the Haynesville Shale and the Piceance Basin Niobrara Shale.
Prior to his career in the oil and gas industry, Mr. Tincher had several internships with the U.S. Geological Survey’s Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, working on Kilauea and Mauna Loa volcanoes. He received a B.S. in Geology and M.S. in Geology with Honors from the University of Kansas. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists.
